From the very beginning, we’ve wanted to create a CBD lip balm — and now it’s finally here! CBD is an incredible ingredient for mucous membranes (as proven by our Etna and Glisa products), and now it’s time for the kind of lip product we ourselves have long wished existed on the market.
What makes Beau special? Beau brings the effectiveness of pharmaceutical skincare into natural cosmetics. Many conventional lip products contain plastic-derived chemicals, and we wanted to create an alternative. Now that’s finally possible thanks to a bio-based dexpanthenol (provitamin B5) that only became commercially available last year. Previously, this ingredient — commonly used in pharmacy products for wounds and cracked skin — was only available in synthetic formulations. Now, for the first time, it’s available in a form approved for natural cosmetics.
CBD and D-panthenol are a dream combination for dry and chapped lips. In the skin, D-panthenol converts into pantothenic acid, which supports the skin’s natural renewal processes. It effectively binds moisture, strengthens the skin barrier, soothes irritation, and promotes skin repair. This makes D-panthenol especially effective for treating dry and damaged lips. Combined with CBD — known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties — it makes Beau exceptionally nourishing and restorative.
Although Beau is a lip balm, it also works beautifully on skin with healing wounds. For example, freshly tattooed skin can be treated wonderfully with Beau. The product is also suitable for children. Beau is Ecocert-certified, vegan, and suitable for sensitive skin. It also works beautifully under lip makeup: lip color adheres well to the balm and stays in place.
We want to raise awareness about the ingredients used in lip products, because a significant portion of them ends up in your mouth. Have you ever thought about the fact that you’re essentially eating your lip makeup? Many consumers also use medicinal creams on their lips that are not intended to be ingested.
Plastic has already been found in human blood, lungs, placentas, blood vessels, and brains. Researchers still don’t fully understand the health effects of microplastics, but microplastics accumulating in blood vessels have been linked to changes observed in Alzheimer’s disease. There are also concerns that microplastics may disrupt hormonal function.
